ALL information presented on the screen is reliant. I gave you a .txt sample of some of the longest type information areas which are currently truncated. The issue here is NOT one of being able to identify source and origin, the issue here is that the information is truncated which we are all interested in. If you pass the maximum mount count, the rootfs is checked during boot. But unlike all other fses which are checked later (and with progress), root is checked early, without any progress. With nowadays disk sizes user could wait significantly long time, which is really ugly. I suggest two things: 1. Add '-C' to fsck args 2. Beside that I nowhere immediately could find a configuration of it, it annoys me in the following ways: Every N minutes (for some unknown N) a dialog pops up, asking me if I want to start konqueror, or abort. When I leave the computer for a while, several of such dialogs need to be closed. Then, if you check the "dont ask me again" box, and hit abort (i.e. "I dont want you to ever ask me again nor start konqueror") it nevertheless pops up the next time. Then I accidentally clicked the "start konqueror" button, with the checkbox checked. Now every N minutes, a konqueror is started out of nothing. That is annoying as well as konqufusing, especially for those who cannot remember anymore what they clicked last time, and that it could have a reason. Suggested resolutions are: give the dialog a "never ask me again about this" button/checkbox behaviour. dont start the konqueror per default just out of nothing. At least show an information dialog "we have detected low disc space and start konqueror now". Best would be to make the configuration very easy to access, like an additional "configure disc space settings now" button. I recommend to stay at 10.1 and make use of the kdebluetooth package in KDE:Backports of the buildservice. Also there should be provided soon a YOU update for kdebluetooth for 10.1 (and 10.0). On our IA64 machine, embedded VGA hasn't PCI ROM. However System BIOS includes Video BIOS and system BIOS copies the Video BIOS image to 0xC0000 in system RAM. Therefore, our machine is correct. Fortunately, Xorg is able to read the Video BIOS from the sysfs rom on x86 platform because x86 Linux kernel has pci_fixup_video. On the other hand, IA64 Linux kernel doesn't include pci_fixup_video. Unfortunately, in first step, Xorg program copies Video BIOS image from the sysfs rom and xf86ReadDomainMemroy function always returns the value of success regardless of rom-read failed. As a result, Xorg fall into unexpected infinite loop and VGA screen never appear. The other IA64 machine such as SGI altix is different from our memory map. And it is true that our integrated VGA device hasn't PCI ROM. And then, I am thinking that IA64 Linux kernel shouldn't have pci_fixup_video. Therefore, We need the following patch for SUSE LINUX 10. (2 CD set) Canada French is not on this set. I did find it on the web in a SUSE beta version dated 3 September. It is also in all Fedora Core4 and Core5 releases. See how they did it and do likewise. Eventually I was able to make gnome work with it. The Canada(fr) version found does not allow for the setting of the euro symbol to an alternate key (example, alt-char E) Even worse, in text mode, the keyboard presented is the US english, not the Canadian French. US Keyboard layouts do not match Canadian French keyboard layout and of course, accented characters are non existant. This is an implementation stopper. It is not a matter of impatient people shutting down Yast. In the past we have and always will have situations that hang and will not terminate. KDE logout MUST have overriding functionality under all circumstances and 10.1 early release of On-line updates is a prime example where the application at time would hang and everyone needs to be able to close their PC correctly without have the file system having to re-play pre-occupied files and folders all over these place. IF Yast has NOT indeed fallen over, a simple warning message is all that is required. Yast, fundamentally serves ADMIN changes well - however there are going and have been problems in the past and I am sorry I know of NO commercial software where logout from session is negated by an application.
