Changing /usr/share/applications/thunderbird.desktop to .../thunderbird-esr.desktop solves the issue. Using Xorg, it works just fine. Both KDE and Gnome still have "Finnish" as first option, but the user is stupid trying to select that? TW installer might have a workaround to set things properly, but Aeon installer only has Gnome based selector and thats the only thing you get resulting in non-working system. "kotoistus" has no meaning for me as Finnish user, why would I pick that. I have no idea how this ended up like that "fi" is non-working when all the others are just variants, why isnt "kotoistus" symlink/alias/whatever for "fi", if thats meant to be new default. Why there needs to exists all these workarounds for a thing that has been working for decades and probably still breaks on other places. Then the machine automatically powers back on. I enter the LUKS password and the machine continues to boot. I enter the user password at SDDM screen. After loading KDE I can then see that Hibernate has indeed worked. Largest issue is machine is cycling, (powering back on) after hibernation has been envoked. I have shut off all wake-on power options in the bios settings. The machine is kept very current with the latest updates. I have leanrt with the help of the OpenSuse Forum that all of these keys are entered using dead-keys in the Swedish keyboard layout and we have determined that this is probably a bug. You can find more information under this link: https://forums.opensuse.org/t/cannot-type-tilde-character-in-gnome-password… I don't encounter the same issue with other keyboard layouts such as the German or English layouts. My current workaround is to switch to one of these layouts for the password prompt or enter the character in question using the onscreen keyboard. Another fix seems to be to set the keyboard variant with the "nodeadkeys" option as suggested by arvidjaar in the forums: tw:/usr/share/X11/xkb # localectl --no-convert set-x11-keymap se "" nodeadkeys tw:/usr/share/X11/xkb # localectl System Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 VC Keymap: us X11 Layout: se X11 Variant: nodeadkeys tw:/usr/share/X11/xkb # I have not been able to verify this workaround for now, but will try it later today. This openQA failed since the kernel removed the framebuffer, so Plymouth's patch could not work with FB. Bochs and Cirrus should use DRM as before this patch. Then, shouldn't it need to fix the DRM failed problem here? I think I can look at the context when the patch was made. When I checked this bug, I saw that Plymouth found tty serial console add, but no graphic device there. So, I don't get your point here. If you want the following work done from Plymouth's side, then what do you want Plymouth to do after remove the patch? The grub boot menu does work. After some kernel output, the black screen from the screenshot appears. The operation "Loading basic drivers" takes a minute or two, but after "Hardware detection" nothing happens any more. The system seems stuck but the cursor blinks irregularly. OpenSUSE Tumbleweed is not affected. If I block this with “zypper al”, MozillaThunderbird is supposed to be installed. After I also block Thunderbird, the update goes through without any problems, even without additional installations. Only “kmozillahelper” can no longer be installed, because then all Firefox versions should be downgraded. This means that my KDE integration is not clean. In /var/log/messages I got: WARNING: found neither IPv4 nor IPv6 address WARNING: updating xxxxx: nochg: No update required; unnecessary attempts to change to the current address are considered abusive with the last message repeated every 5 minutes. At first I thought ddclient was at fault (version 3.10.0 has several issues), but then I figured out that the problem was due to the systemd hardening effort: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Security_Features#Systemd_hardening_effort In ddclient.conf I use: use=cmd, cmd="ipmitool ...." In /usr/lib/systemd/system/ddclient.service there is: [Service] PrivateDevices=true which makes the ipmitool command executed by the ddclient process to not report the correct information. In my case it is link to /run/netconfig/resolv.conf Changing the file /etc/resolv.conf (i.e. running "vim /etc/resolv.conf" and doing some changes) causes nscd to log: monitored file `/etc/resolv.conf` was written to and the cache is cleared. But if instead the linked file is changed (i.e. running "vim /run/netconfig/resolv.conf" and changing something), it logs: ignored inotify event for `/etc/resolv.conf` (file exists) the cache is not cleared and the /etc/resolv.conf stops being watched completely. The sources and its makefiles in /usr/src/kernel-modules/virtualbox/src contain logic to install modules to /lib/modules/xxx/misc. /sbin/vboxconfig (a shell script) runs `modprobe -av vboxnetflt vboxnetadp`. The insmod messages come from modprobe, not virtualbox logic. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run your graphical user interface (only tested in KDE plasma, it's automatic if your system doesn't boot to command line be default) 2. Open command line. 3. Run "import", if you like, you can run something along the lines of "import {any text here}" Actual Results: KDE freezes, of you change tty, it may crash, so I swap between tty1 and tty2.
