I have not gotten and IncompleteRead errors when using osc outside of distrobox (such as installing it on the MicroOS base system or on TW) Steps to reproduce: 1 Create a distrobox as detailed on the wiki: $ distrobox create --root --name tumbleweed-pkg --image registry.opensuse.org/opensuse/distrobox-packaging:latest 2 Do zypper dup (the image is not always up to date and recommends need to be installed or else osc misses a lot of features such as the loading bar when you run osc co and it is taking some time to download something) 3 Enter into it and osc co any package 4 Do a local build with osc build If osc then tries to download dependencies then *sometimes* it will fail midway through with a message like this: [40/171] (openSUSE:Tumbleweed) libuuid1-2.40.1-4.1.x86_64.rpm: 100%|############################################################################| Time: 0:00:00 [41/171] (openSUSE:Tumbleweed) libsmartcols1-2.40.1-4.1.x86_64.rpm: 100%|#######################################################################| Time: 0:00:00 [42/171] (openSUSE:Tumbleweed) libcrypt1-4.4.36-1.6.x86_64.rpm: 100%|###########################################################################| Time: 0:00:00 Connection broken: IncompleteRead(196304 bytes read, 31608179 more expected) | ETA: --:--:-- I can work around this by then just rerunning osc build and then it will download some more deps before maybe throwing another IncompleteRead error while trying to download a different dependency. Steps to reproduce: --- 1) Fresh Aeon install. 2) `sudo transactional-update -n run zypper -n aloc ja_JA` 3) reboot Actual results: --- No additional Japanese keyboards available. Expected results: --- MOZC Japanese keyboard should appear in the list of Japanese language keyboard. Variation of the problem: --- I first encountered this issue when I tried to add both Japanese and Thai keyboard, with a command such as: `sudo transactional-update -n run zypper -n aloc ja_JA th_TH` I assumed the second locale was the issue, but on another new install, the "normal" command meant to add only Japanese variable produced the same resultsi This happened on two different machines. Using image: Aeon-Installer.x86_64-0.1.0-Snapshot20241124.raw.xz Created USB using xzcat and also Impression (same result). For debugging purposes, I did experiment with different HW configs, most notably pulling out NVidia card and moving SSDs to different slots. This is why there will be multiple 'installation attempts' in tik.log file. Let me know what else is needed, or I can also debug the process if instructions are provided. Apparently, the partitions were created, it seems like encrypted one 'is already mounted' and script gets confused at that point. I really want to try Aeon... The OpenSUSE Aeon installer boots and then enters some sort of error mode, I think it is dracut mode based on what I saw from troubleshooting. After restarting the error occurs again, and if you follow the instructions (Press Control-D to continue) you do reach the installer. However, the installer always fails after this error occurs. This error occurred many times, and then randomly didn't after a reboot and the installation finally worked, after ~10 reboots. This same error occurred a few months ago when I tried to install Aeon as well. I would love to have provided the full logs but I am unsure exactly how to at the moment as I currently only have one computer (with a USB-A port) which means I cannot extract data from the thumb drive. My only guess is maybe trying from the "live-environment" but that sounds too painful for me to do currently. I can get the full logs when I return home in a few weeks time. In lieu of that, I have attached pictures of anything notable I saw in the logs. Hopefully that will be helpful.
