After update to GNOME 44, firefox reproducibly starts up with an unusable window. I have observed different phenomena. Most of the time the firefox window is transparent; basically only the window title bar is visible. Attempts to move or resize the window result in graphical artifacts. Sometimes the window is visible, but solid grey. If if kill and restart firefox, the issue is gone, and firefox works normally.
