When I login to XFCE, soon after boot, the XFCE session is corrupted (see attached photo). Applications do not respond or just a bit. Can't open menu to run other apps. I have to exit via ctrl-alt-backspace--backspace. Workaround is to delete, from text mode, directory ~/.cache/sessions/*. I have made a backup tar to reconstruct my session faster. The home folder was initially cloned from another machine (for Thunderbird/Firefox mostly). This also happened on another machine this past summer, using 15.3, for some of its users. I am using "systemctl hibernate" as root. BIOS aka UEFI configuration has this selector: Sleep State: Windows and Linux vs Linux S3 hibernation In the first mode, screen goes to black for an instant, then pops for user password. On 15.4 I tried the second config option (Linux S3 hibernation) and it locked kernel hard, but journal was written. I will try again on 15.5 and report. My guess is that there is a problem at the network level, not the NFS level. Are you able to use "tcpdump" to capture the network traffic while attempting "showmount" and mount? If so, please create a new bug and attach the packet capture. Please add me <nfbrown(a)suse.com> to the CC, or post to this bug and mention the bug number. Then use the command defragfs.ocfs2 MOUNT_POINT. And if no accident, you will see some message like this: “ defragfs.ocfs2 1.8.5 [1/201]/mnt/ocfs2/tmp_file:Success [ERROR]Move extent failed:"/mnt/ocfs2/test_from_dd1" - No space left on device [2/201]/mnt/ocfs2/test_from_dd1:Failed [ERROR]Move extent failed:"/mnt/ocfs2/test_from_dd2" - No space left on device [3/201]/mnt/ocfs2/test_from_dd2:Failed [ERROR]Move extent failed:"/mnt/ocfs2/test_from_dd3" - No space left on device ” but if you execute defragfs.ocfs2 MOUNT_POINT again, the error message will not show again. and all the defragmentation will pass. please make sure your device's capacity is more tha 1G. I think the non-regression test could be as simple as sharing a directory, trying to list your own shares, and finally try to mount your own share (so everything on the same host). Obviously, this won't happen in the real life, but I think it could fail too as I suspect that the problem doesn't come from low-level side (whether you're mounting your own share or not won't interfere) I'm able to run this without any problem on kernel .46.1 and everything works: # mkdir /tmp/foo # exportfs -o ro *:/tmp/foo # showmount -e localhost # mkdir /tmp/bar # mount -t nfs localhost:/tmp/foo /tmp/bar # echo 123 >/tmp/foo/testme # ls -l /tmp/bar/ # cat /tmp/bar/testme 123 Try the same with kernel .55 (or .49): it may fail and you'd have your test ready (with maybe a few timeouts handling...because mount or showmount would block) HTH St�phane -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
