In normal mode there's no feedback visible, screen goes black, fan runs periodically but no apparent response from OS e.g. cannot switch tty, caps lock doesn't activate. In rescue mode the fail is similar but the screen remains visible; last message was tagged T390 and referenced nvme0 (system SSD). I've tried more recent kernels incl. kernel-default-5.14.21-150500.75.1.ged939b6.x86_64 or 6.1.12 but the artifacts persist. All the other apps seem to work fine, only Konsole seems to be affected. Some people have reported switching from RAID to AHCI in BIOS helped, for me it didn't change the situation much (if at all). In my troubleshooting I am able to run kwin by bypassing sddm-greeter from root, so I know kwin will work. I simply run 'init 3' as root and then execute 'startx' and plasma loads fine, albeit as the root user. I'm unable to get it to load from standard user even with autologin setup in sddm. I know there is a previous bsc#1133466 where this has happened in the past. Are there any thoughts on this recent problem and any additional troubleshooting I can do? Even with spack in the search path, `spack env activate .` would fail without the environment set up. There are two locations in the Dockerfile-template where this needs to be added.
