http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1202074 Bug ID: 1202074 Summary: after installing fetchmsttfonts the operation system fonts change automatically, also firefox fonts change automatically(effect badelly on facebook arabic posts)f Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.4 Hardware: Other OS: openSUSE Leap 15.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: screening-team-bugs(a)suse.de Reporter: adelabd22(a)gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs(a)suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- 1- install openSUSE Leap 15.4 using USB Flash Drives. 2- choose Desktop with gnome. 3- after installation, open yast -> software management -> view -> patterns -> cinnamon desktop environment (accept to install cinnamon). 4- logout -> change environment from gnome to cinnamon and log in. 5- add pack man repository, using yast control center. 6- add nvidia repository (drivers), using yast control center. 7- add arabic layouts to the system, using cinnamon system settings. 8- open firefox, log in to face book every thing is good(arabic posts font is good and i can see it easily). 9- run "sudo zypper ref", "sudo zypper lu", "sudo zypper up". 10- restart the system. 11- reopen firefox, log in to face book every thing is good(arabic posts font is good and i can see it easily). 12- open yast center -> software management -> search for "fetchmsttfonts" and install it. 13- operation system fonts (default, desktop, document, monospace, windows title) fonts automatically change (can see that by open "font selection" before install the package and after install it to see the change). 14- open firefox then login to facebook find all arabic posts font are small and hard to read and in same time the font shape is change to some uncomfortable font. 15- also in firefox setting under language and appearance there's fonts and colors, if open it before and after installing "fetchmsttfonts" will find the fonts are automatically change after install the "fetchmsttfonts". 16- the only way to fix this problem in facebook is go to firefox setting -> language and appearance -> fonts and colors -> advanced -> set minimum font size and in same time (uncheck allow pages to choose their own fonts instead of your selections above). 17- point number 16 fix the Facebook Arabic posts size but effect bad on other website as (uncheck allow pages to choose their own fonts instead of your selections above) damage any formate of other websites so i can not use this method. 18- install Chromium find it also like firefox. 19- remove "fetchmsttfonts", every thing back normal and good after logout and log in again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

So first I uninstalled fcitx completely because I wanted to try to install iBus again, you'll find other bug reports of mine about that. Then I uninstalled iBus again too, and I tried: suzo zypper install fcitx5 and this is the output: `````` Resolving package dependencies... I'm not sure exactly what the "architecture change" means, but my CPU is an x86_64, so changing the "architecture of something" to i586 definitely doesn't sound right. If I can't just install fcitx5 right away without having to do scary stuff, something is wrong. So I uninstalled iBus and installed Fcitx, which had been known to work for some users, and it actually worked for me. From that point, I was able to use dead keys in PhpStorm (and every other application, but those worked with iBus too). Recently dead keys stopped working again in PhpStorm and at first I thought it was an update of theirs, but it wasn't. Then I noticed that when I go to KDE's "System Settings -> whatever -> Input Method" it says "Cannot connect to Fcitx by DBus, is Fcitx running?" (btw I just had to TYPE this ****ing error message by hand. Please make every ****ing thing that is ever displayed on screen copy-pastable). So finally I ran fcitx-diagnose and it says: `````` 3. process: **Fcitx is not running.** **Please check the Configure link of your distribution in [Beginner's Guide](http://fcitx-im.org/wiki/Beginner%27s_Guide) for how to setup fcitx autostart.** `````` I never touched any of that, so there's no valid reason for fcitx to have stopped running. Something that I don't understand is that, despite that, in ALL applications except for PhpStorm, dead keys still work regardless. Also I had never tried fcitx-diagnose before so I cannot tell for sure that the process had EVER been running. But what I can tell is that PhpStorm used to work and one of the things that PhpStorm's staff asked me to check is that the process is running. When I first uninstalled iBus and before I installed Fcitx, I remember that dead keys did stop working in ALL applications, and they only started working again once I installed fcitx. So, my guess at this point is (but I'm totally guessing): - Fcitx is more than just a daemon process. It installs stuff _and_ a daemon. - Some applications (e.g. PhpStorm) need the daemon, some others (e.g. everything else I ever use) don't, though they do need the other stuff that fcitx is made of - the daemon process used to be running and isn't anymore. And that would be the bug.
