Steps to Reproduce: for i in 1 2 ; do gcc-9 -fPIC -S test1.c && md5sum test1.s ; done Actual Result: produces a different md5sum output for every run. It's just that open-iscsi started waiting for network manager online. I found this reference to a similar issue (even though it's Ubuntu): > https://askubuntu.com/questions/615006/ubuntu-15-04-network-manager-causing… Bottom line, it may be nm-online that is taking so long, and you can reduce it's timeout from 30 seconds to something like 10, though this doesn't address why it thinks it needs 30 seconds!
