From the log you provided, it is unlikely that the root device was falsely detected. The lvm volume group (system) is built with three physical volumes: sda2, bcache0 and nvme and two of them was encrypted. The part of the version which matters (the "release") isn't passed to kiwi for building, but only after the build to create the final filename. Reassigning to kiwi: Do you see any way of getting the full version including release into the isoinfo output? BTW: "osc maintainer -e python-kiwi" prints "kiwi-internal(a)s.d" meanwhile, but there's no bugzilla account mapped to that address. (I'm one of those people with a pathological aversion to Gnome!!!) Okay, I think I've found it under Settings / System Settings, but it's not nice when you're tyring to set up a new install, you connect to the network first time, and then the system just keeps on forgetting, going to sleep and losing the network in the middle of an update, and all that sort of nuisance. However, no issue is seen with the GNOME desktop. I wonder is this a bug of KDE? Step to reproduce the issue: On VNC server: 1. #yast2 remote 2. #systemctl restart display-manager.service On VNC client: 3. #vncviewer --Shared -SecurityTypes None vncserver_ip:5901 4. can only see the black screen.
