I got this issue with regards to the audio coming from my USB sound card (Audient iD14): every time I put the pc on sleep and wake it up, every single source of audio goes to mono and I can hear the music/sounds coming just from one of my two speakers. I did update to PipeWire, however the issue continues as it was with PulseAudio or Jack. To fix that I can either plug my usb sound card off and plug back in or restart the pc. I tracked the problem to the file: /usr/etc/profile.d/lang.csh from package: aaa_base Such file contains the following line: if (${?LANG}) set _save=$LANG the purpose is clear: if the variable LANG is defined then assign its value to _save. However variable substitution happens anyway for the whole line causing an error if the variable LANG is not defined. A broken apache log with a certain pattern of string can spend too much time in a regular expression, resulting in the potential for a DoS attack. And if that is the best we can do so be it. I do still consider the need to add the package to the image description as a work around. But we have other such things, the build service can also not resolve file dependencies for image builds and we add those packages into the image descriptions as well. This may take a considerable amount of time, depending on whether repackaging of `shim` will require a new M$ signature or not. #2 amend the image definition, that pulls in `shim`, to also request the grub2-platform package (`grub2-x86_64-efi` in this case), to avoid the BS ambiguity.
