Anyway the links to systemd problems could explain the problem. If the .snapshots subvolume does not get mounted during boot (or is not mounted due to other reasons), the message ".snapshots is not a btrfs subvolume" is a consequence. On i586 this breaks mkinitrd though. For i586, it currently uses the "vmlinu." regex for getting the kernel binaries in /boot, which also matches /boot/vmlinux-...-....xz, which isn't the bootable kernel. Until now, those were ignored because get_kernel_version failed. Now that get_kernel_version is fixed, it now tries to build an initrd for the ".xz" versions, which obviously fails. Both the SDB and SDD drives are encrypted and use XFS as filesystem. Upon installing openSUSE Leap or Tumbleweed, both partitions are recognized by Yast. Upon entering the passphrase Yast can successfully mount both drives. Once installation is complete booting fails as the boot process can't decrypt one drive. It reports that LUKS is not able to decrypt drive SDD1. And after a minute and a half wait the boot drops to the emergency prompt. At this point I'm not able to access the GUI. I checked my /etc/fstab configuration vs the /dev/disk/by-uuid directory and the encrypted UUID's are correct. The decryption process fails for cr-auto-1. As it turns out in /etc/crypttab there are 2 entries: cr-auto-1 /dev/sdd1 cr-auto-2 /dev/sdb1 Based upon the configuration of YAST2 installation these device ID's are correct. But when I run fdisk -l it turns out that my encrypted partition is not on SDD1, but on SDC1: SDA == SSD, root SDB == SSD, home SDC == HDD, data SDD == HDD, windows SDE == HDD, data Thus between the installation process and the live run system my device ID's changed for 2 drives while the configuration has not changed. I was able to fix this by changing the values in the crypttab, but it is not desired to have to edit this file manually. A fresh installation of Tumbleweed with KDE Plasma 5.18 german language leads to a mixture of english and german. For example "Zu Favoriten hinzufügen" is still "Add to Favorites". The Startmenu has "Applications" instead of "Anwendungen", or"Leave" instead of "Verlassen", etc. Switching the language to english and then back to german does not help, neither does a „sudo zypper inr“. It only occures if you install TW from a current DVD or network image, if you upgrade an old KDE Plasma 5.17, everything stays german. This problem is not limited to german, I opened a thread on reddit and it is the same with the spanish an portuguese versions. https://www.reddit.com/r/openSUSE/comments/flv87i/germanenglish_mixture_sin… I also added a screenshot of a new TW installation on a Virtualbox.
