In a plasma-wayland session, try to open Dolphin to visualize the file. click on it and select "open with kate" or "open with notepad". Nothing happens. Try open with libreoffice (opens but the first instance will silently crash and immediately open again, working and displaying correctly the file. I then tried to open from the start menu a virgin kate or a virgin notepad. However, Kiwi only appears to patch the little-endian bytes into the ISO when it sets the final size of the affected files. For instance, you can find a file in openSUSE-Leap-15.0 that bears as size: e1 01 00 00 00 00 08 00 where the first four bytes are correct and the next four are wrong. This is probably because only the first four were overwritten by Kiwi, when it patched in the new size after manipulating the file content. Therefore, independently of a separate libcdio issue (which should gracefully warn when it finds such an inconsistency, rather than bail out), there is a definite problem with the way Kiwi updates the file sizes, as only seems to do half the job, which is in breach of the ECMA specs. After installation of the image I added nmcli-dmenu without recommends. I disabled wicked and enabled NetworkManager. Using nmtui I configured the wlan0 interface with a fixed IP address and the required other network parameters. When I boot the system without a connected Ethernet cable, the system comes up with an active Wi-Fi connection. The system is relatively far from the AP. So when I run a ping to the default gateway I always have a few percent loss. When I leave the system running for a few days a see each few hours - no fixed interval - a "Connection disconnected" with different reasons in the journal. At a certain moment I see "Activation: failed" to the AP. The system remains at the same location. After that NM does not try to re-establish the connection, so the system is not reachable anymore. When I connect the Ethernet cable I have access to the system again. Restarting the network.service re-establishes the Wi-Fi connection, so I can pull the Ethernet cable and still have a connection via Wi-Fi.
