The only remaining question is whether konsole should check that it actually is a printable character. Doesn't matter much though I suppose, as the standard explicitly says the behaviour is undefined for non-printable characters. Btw, sorry for the late response, I haven't followed *this* bug report (which was/is about xterm, isn't it?). I actually backported and tested the patch a week ago, and would have submitted it already if I read this earlier (I was waiting for further actions upstream). I backported it to konsole4-part as well btw, but I think I'll better wait for the final upstream commit. That is probably not so important anyway, as there are only one or two KDE4 applications left that use it. At 2018-02-01 09:33:21 parted reports the extended partition to be #3. I cannot say what happened in between.
