The thing is that according to the error message "mkfs.btrfs died abnormally", mkfs.btrfs seems to be installed but exited not gracefully (maybe it was killed). Maybe /var/lib/machines directory is special on your system. Could you attach the output of: - btrfs subvolume list / - cat /etc/fstab ? After doing this rpmlint now detects arch dependent binaries. I've worked around this with an rpmlintrc file but rpmlint's method for checking for arch dependent files is faulted.
