So then you install automake and try again: $ ./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib64 autoreconf: Entering directory `.' autoreconf: configure.ac: not using Gettext autoreconf: running: aclocal --force -I m4 ${ACLOCAL_FLAGS} autoreconf: configure.ac: tracing autoreconf: running: libtoolize --copy --force Can't exec "libtoolize": No such file or directory at /usr/share/autoconf/Autom4te/FileUtils.pm line 345, <GEN3> line 5. autoreconf: failed to run libtoolize: No such file or directory autoreconf: libtoolize is needed because this package uses Libtool Darn, looks like we also need libtool. But it looks like the source package isn't available: sudo zypper source-install -d libinput10 Reading installed packages... Loading repository data... Package 'libinput10' has source package 'libinput'. Source package 'libinput' for package 'libinput10' not found. Resolving package dependencies... No additional space will be used or freed after the operation. Nothing to do. Same thing if I do it for libinput-devel: sudo zypper source-install -d libinput-devel Reading installed packages... Loading repository data... Package 'libinput-devel' has source package 'libinput'. Source package 'libinput' for package 'libinput-devel' not found. Resolving package dependencies... I want to use `zypper source-install -d` to automatically install the packages required to build libinput, and it doesn't seem to accept local RPMs. Basically, this is supposed to be easy, and it's not. In Fedora, I do `dnf builddep libinput`, and it works perfectly the first time, no configuration needed, no additional repos needed, no hassle at all. In openSUSE, that's not the case.
