I used the categogy "Utility;TelephonyTools;" and OBS gave me: 'ERROR: No sufficient Category definition:' I checked the file /usr/lib/rpm/brp-desktop.data/applications.menu and it seems to be outdated when I compare with https://specifications.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/menu-spec-1.0.html or https://cgit.freedesktop.org/xdg/xdg-specs/tree/menu/menu-spec.xml. Even OpenSUSE suggests TelephonyTools category at https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Packaging_desktop_menu_categories So, something is not updated. Cinnamon sees these files and is apparently recognizing them as they are listed under Edit -> Plugins, however regardless of them being disabled, I see no option or interface component that allows their usage. Not sure where to go from here. I feel like there's a missing dependency or something but I have not been able to corroborate this theory thus far. Everything seems to work EXCEPT even though I have window backgrounds and wallpapers installed and available, the system cannot use them. This same box has Plasma 5 and GNOME installed and both have no issues. In Cinnamon icons, applications, resolution work perfectly...only on a light gray desktop. I removed Cinnamon and then replaced it hoping that something would be replaced that might have gotten "buggared", but the same thing continued.
