If as boot device is selected mbr and "/boot" is on md raid, then it will write to both devices. But it never work so reliable with software raid, as problem is that in MBR is only 512 bytes, so disk order and partition number is hardcoded there. So both partition have to have same number and also same starting cylinder. Also it have problem when disk is there and just report some error, as it mean that boot code still point to that disk and can fail. So in that case disk have to be manually disabled. So this feature is already there, but it is never trivial recovery and hardware raid works always more reliable. Do you have any data how useful it will be for users and how many of them need such functionality? I have to say that from my POV that unless you are tester, journalist or experimenter, then you have at most two OS installed, so it is not needed. I also see another drawback. For large server installation we disable by default os_prober because it took too much time, but to get such list of OSes we need to run it, so in the end it again slow down installation. ( for big server with more then 1000 disks, it took several hours to inspect all disks ) So as I said I am not against it, but it make UI more complex and require non-trivial changes in code, so I need some data from users, that it make sense to put work into it and also to maintain it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

This one has the option 'set active flag in partition table'. Currently /dev/sdb5 with openSUSE_42.2 is used, I used the same 'set active flag' check, to create the boot prompt. The result is: y2log:Error output: /usr/sbin/parted: invalid token: legacy_boot This seem to be caused by the 'set active flag in partition table' setting. When I removed the setting the setting, the bootloader creator finished....
