On the other hand, autodefrag is still not supported AFAIK and last attempts on SLE 12 leaded to the same situation that a 15% filed filesystem became way to fragmented in production. The different kernel might give the different behavior, but it doesn't mean that the kernel is buggy at all. And I guess this issue is independent from hardware. Should be seen in a VM as well.
