I have a new MIMO UM-760CF. I have tried three different 42.1 computers. X11 crashes on each one if the MIMO monitor is plugged in. So I opened sddm.conf both with kate and with kwrite as root, input the users I want hidden and save the file. Everything is legible. But cat /etc/sddm.conf shows the desaster already. I checked, the coding(?) is set to UTF8 in either editor. The expected effect of hiding unwanted users doesn't work.
