Once we invested in not installing all filesystem packages by default and that also works with openSUSE 13.1: When the user selects ext4 for / and /home then no btrfsprogs and thus no snapper and no snapper-zypp-plugin gets installed. I'll make it a duplicate of this. I noticed that systemd-vconsole-setup is failing in the initrd, as LANG=POSIX, somehow. I'm not sure where LANG is set to the wrong value, but it means that vconsole-setup tries to call loadkeys without -u, resulting in strange error messages, which I noticed in the journal. The workaround is quite simple, add EnvironmentFile=-/etc/locale.conf to /usr/lib/systemd/system/systemd-vconsole-setup.service and run mkinitrd. All charset, ncurses and similiar issues are now gone! My GPG keys got automatically unlocked after login, but this doesn't work anymore. The culprit is this conditional %bcond_with gpgagent in gnome-keyring's spec file. The related comment says: - Disable gpgagent integration, as gnupg 2.1 introduced code to explicitly sabotage gnome-keyring. BUT, openSUSE_Leap_42.1 does *not* come with gnupg 2.1, but with an even older version than 13.2 had: gpg2-2.0.24-3.2.x86_64 I've branched the GNOME:STABLE:3.16 package "gnome-keyring" and changed the "%bcond_with gpgagent" into "%bcond_without gpgagent"; now my keys get unlocked again.
