I’ve since rolled the server packages back to the previous release (2.2.5-1.1) which is working. Both this and the 2.1 package seem to contain the same binary version for the zabbix-server binary: # /usr/sbin/zabbix-server -V Zabbix server v2.2.5 (revision 47411) (17 July 2014) Compilation time: Jul 17 2014 13:49:59 However, if I pass the -f flag on the command line, it complains: # /usr/sbin/zabbix-server -f zabbix-server [5306]: illegal zbx_option -- f usage: zabbix-server [-hV] [-c <file>] [-n <nodeid>] [-R <option>] I suspect if I'd altered the .service file to remove the foreground patch changes, it would have worked. I am going to try to set up a separate environment where I can do more testing on this. There are a couple things specific to our setup (such as using sock file to connect to Postgres) which have caused issues in the past, and it makes sense to test upgrades locally. During the installation we call Yast::WFM.SCROpen("chroot=/mnt:scr", ...) to let many SCR agents operate on the system being installed rather than the inst-sys. This works in cases where the agents are implemented in C++ and can query the main SCR objects about the target root. But the agents that are separate processes communicating via stdio, there is no interface to know the target root. The games either have the black textures or straight up refuse to start, complaining about missing s3tc extension. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install the libtxc libraries. 2. Install a game using S3TC. 3. Run the game. Actual Results: Civilization V from Steam has black textures. Portal complains about missing extensions and then refuses to start. I install X libraries from the Factory//Xorg repository hoping for fixes, but even those packages have the problem.
