This is default XFCE upgrade from 12.3. XFCE associates .doc files with LibreOffice, yet Firefox associates .doc with gedit (it was LO before). Of course after opening it with gedit user sees some cryptic message on the screen and panics. That option is gone, unfortunately. Windows 7, for comparison, has a "repair boot problems" option on the installation media. I'd like to suggest an option in addition to "boot installed operating system" (which seems to star the active partition) that goes like "Boot installed Linux". Note the difference: As Yast is able to find existing Linux installations (openSUSE at least), it should be able to boot such a system if the boot loader was damaged or misconfigured (e.g. you first installed openSUSE, and then you "repaired" your Windows boot). Booting the installed kernel (and system) would help the user a lot when trying to repair his system (or maybe doing other dangerous boot loader experiments). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
