OpenSuse uses splashy to display a good splash progress screen during the
hibernate process, in my case splashy crashes at this point.
Tell me if you need some debugging information and how can I provide it to you.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install OpenSuse 12.1 Milestone 5
2. Hibernate the system.
3. Splashy crashes and screen fallback to an ugly text console with error
messages.
Actual Results:
Splashy crashes and screen fallback to an ugly text console with error
messages.
Expected Results:
Splashy should provide a graphical splash to see the hibernation progress.
I see this error in 12.3 as well - a short text line with some splash_error -2
(?) when sending the PC to hibernation.

Summary: mkinitrd fails to create working system for nfs boot

Issuing the command:
mkinitrd -k vnlinuz-3.7.10-1.1-desktop -i initrdnfs -d /dev/nfs -f nfs -D eth0
-B
results in a initrdnfs which fails on boot at the stage of mounting the root
file system, with error report "mount.nfs: Protocol not supported".
I believe it is because nfs_v3 and nfs_v4 have been made separate kernal
modules. Applying some wild guess work, I was able to fix the problem by adding
" nfsv3" to the end of the line "#%modules: nfs" in file
/lib/mkinitrd/scripts/boot-nfs.sh

You have one or more bugs assigned to you in the Bugzilla bug tracking system (http://bugzilla.novell.com/) that require
attention.
All of these bugs are in the NEW orREOPENED state, and have not been
touched in 7 days or more.
You need to take a look at them, and decide on an initial action.
Generally, this means one of three things:
(1) You decide this bug is really quick to deal with (like, it's INVALID),
and so you get rid of it immediately.
(2) You decide the bug doesn't belong to you, and you reassign it to
someone else. (Hint: if you don't know who to reassign it to, make
sure that the Component field seems reasonable, and then use the
"Reassign bug to default assignee of selected component" option.)
(3) You decide the bug belongs to you, but you can't solve it this moment.
Just use the "Accept bug" command.
To get a list of all NEW/REOPENED bugs, you can use this URL (bookmark
it if you like!):
http://bugzilla.novell.com/buglist.cgi?bug_status=NEW&bug_status=REOPENED&a…
Or, you can use the general query page, at
http://bugzilla.novell.com/query.cgi
Appended below are the individual URLs to get to all of your NEW bugs
that haven't been touched for 7 days or more.
You will get this message once a week until you've dealt with these bugs!
