After pressing OK I can notice some HDD activity, but it just hangs forever. Logging in in tty2 "reboot" takes forever, as well as "systemctl reboot". "halt -p" and "init 0" don't work, too. I discovered that systemd-vconsole stays at "waiting" and apparently "exit"ing tty2 reboots the machine without problems. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install openSUSE with updates 2. Wait for needed reboot Actual Results: Doesn't reboot Expected Results: Should reboot. But "exit" in tty2 is needed. Happend on every PC I set up. More specific, the mpi binaries are not anymore in the PATH! Cause: The %postun scriptlet which "unregisters" the path of the mpi binaries is run after the %post scriplet which "registers" the path of the mpi binaries. This is the normal execution order as it is described here [1]. Solution: Check when executing the %post and %postun scriplets if it is an upgrade, install or uninstall. This can be done by using the arguments implicitly passed to the scriplets as described in [2] or more precisely in [3]. A click onto Qinternet icon let a window open with following message: "System policy prevents connection to smpppd" and ask for administrator password. I checked smpppd. Smpppd is running ! Only my privilege is gone. Also after login I get an error message that KDE detected that my audio device was removed. Impossible, because it's an onboard chip. A boot with turned off printer let the system working fine. I own privilege to use smpppd and the sound is working too. For the second test I used an usb bluetooth stick. The result was the same error. After that I tried this test on two other computers. The same result there. This error don't happen if an usb storage device is plugged instead printer or bluetooth device. I tested this at two computers with very different hardware. The result was exactly the same. Also I tested with three different USB devices. 1st USB HDD ( ~ 25 MB/s ) 2nd microSD card in a Garmin GPS device ( ~ 1.7 MB/s ) 3rd compact flash card in a camera ( ~ 0.8 MB/s ) For the following tests I used the slowest device. At first I copied data by using of Dolphin and did measure time until desktop freezing. 1st test: 12 minutes 27 seconds 2nd test: 12 minutes 17 seconds 3rd test: 12 minutes 23 seconds Then I did this test once again by using of Konqueror. 1st test: 12 minutes 00 seconds After freezing of desktop sometimes session will terminated automaticly and switched back to login screen. Always it is possible to switch to a text console and to shut down computer. Once I got a kernelpanic error message during shut down. I'm using openSUSE 12.3 ( i586 ) KDE 4.10.00 "release 1" kernel-desktop 3.7.10-1.1.1 This error is any time reproducible.
