There is currently nothing to let the user know its there. PLATFORM/CONFIGURATION: 11.2 final REPRO: 1. Boot from CD/DVD to perform an install. 2. For Ip addr, it correctly gets the last ip address in use (configured previously by dhcp). However, the mask suggested is incorrect. It suggests 255.255.255.0 while my mask is 255.255.254.0 Default root, and dns confs are also ok. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start a installation on a /23 network with DHCP 2. When Yast is running, cancel the installation 3. It returns to linuxrc 4. Select install or update 5. Network 6. HTTP 7. No for DHCP 8. I accepted all the default settings except automatic configuration. After stage 1, the system did not boot. I did some poking around, and as far as I can tell this was caused by the extended partition (sda4) being marked as bootable, but not the root partition (sda6). I ran the rescue system, made sda6 bootable and then I was able to boot the system. First I tried a 12.1 M5 Update installation from NET-DVD on the 11.4/sdc3 system disk. This resulted in a broken grub boot menu that didn't work and returned the following error message: Kernel (hd0,2)/boot/vmlinuz-3.0.0-4-desktop root=/dev/sdc3 .... Error 22: No such partition 2. Afterwards I also tried a 12.1 M5/Gnome3 New Installation, and got the same error. 3. Doing a Rescue logon and mounting /dev/sdc3, the first sections of the /boot/grub/menu.lst contained: ------------- # Modified by YaST2.
