There seems to be a known bug on this (bug 684667). The workaround for this is to remove the vga=xxx from the boot command line. This cannot be done when using kiwi. I have tried removing 'vga=' parts from KIWIBoot.pm, KIWIImage.pm and KIWILinuxRC.sh. Still the vga=xxx is in the cmdline. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Build USB stick 2.Boot it 3. I tried different apps trying to find out which application may cause the freeze. I tried KDE, Gnome, openSUSE 11.4 and 12.1 without any success. Sometimes it runs hours and sometimes only a few minutes. It freezes and I can't do anything except for hard reboot. Alt+Print+B doesn't work, Ctrl+F1 doesn't work either... I checked the Netbook for around 13 hours with memtest86+ without any warning about a broken RAM. I ran the Netbook for almost a day without any problems so I think it might be problem with the Kernel but I'm not sure where to start the search for informations. Amanda is using root-dump on the disks, if that matters. When running amcheck, I got permission errors on the partitions. The problem was, that xinetd did not set the additional groups by default. I had to add the groups = yes statement in the amanda config file for xinetd, then it worked. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Do a fresh install of amanda 2. Configure disklist to dump a partition with root-dump. 3.
