This can be IMHO considered a security risk. into X11:lxde repository is available and updated package that fix that. lxdm now run the greeter as user "lxdm" instead than "root" i would like to release a maintenance update for it (and other issues listed below). other relevant informations: 1) the upgrade fix also bnc#619769 2) the upgrade fix racing conditions caused by wrong signals handling (switch to init 3 do not killed X server in rare cases) 3) /etc/lxdm/lxdm.conf and /var/lib/lxdm change ownership (from root:root to lxdm:lxdm) and the user and group lxdm are added to the system 4) better logging handling (lxdm now properly use glibc functions to menage logs) 5) fix bug sf#3032025 LXDM never calls pam_acct_mgmt 6) general better stability BUT 7) all those changes can NOT be backported to 0.2.0 codebase but will requires an update to a more recent git snapshot. the pacakge is into X11:lxde/lxdm if a review is needed, it has been heavly tested i believe that the bugfixes worth the upgrade Reproducible: Always -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Ldap client accesses from 11.3 fail when using TLS. For example: ldapsearch -ZZ -h my.ldap.host.domain ldap_start_tls: Connect error (-11) additional info: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed (self signed certificate in certificate chain) The error message is probably referring to the CA certificate which resides in /etc/ssl/certs/myown-ca.cert.pem on server side and which is self signed. Other ldap client services like Yast-Ldap-Browser or Yast-User-Management give the same error. I know this is not a really severe bug, but it annoys me every time I write an email, because I have to switch back to the mouse and than back again to the keyboard. When I now connect a digital camera, a popup appears that "You have inserted a medium with digital photos. Choose what application to launch. Select... Which made the machine unsuable for more than 20 minutes (and it's a laptop with an Intel Core2 Duo 2.Ghz, 4GB RAM, and a 7200 rpm hdd) .. There issue was reported here first: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2010-08/msg00406.html /etc/xdg/autostart/gnome-do.desktop does not have an OnlyShowIn=GNOME; or NotShowIn=KDE; element, hence gnome-do gets autostarted by KDE, and gnome-do seems to trigger tracker to start under KDE. Please alter the gnome-do.desktop file so it is not started under KDE. In default installation, even with suitable /etc/pam.d/vlock, vlock still cannot authenticate users (unless run by root) as vlock-main does not have SGID bit and cannot read /etc/shadow. But this seems intentional according to /etc/permissions.* However, these files should set permissions of /usr/sbin/vlock-main rather than /usr/bin/vlock as the latter is a shell script now. ATM the only way to be sure that duplex has been configured correctly is to leave the printer module and print a known 2-sided document and then go back into to module to make any corrections. If a 2 page test print was available from within the printer module this wouldn't be necessary. This is the exact same code, with the same methods/policies, but it moved so it can be used by more people.
