Able to enter data but server field small and cannot see bottom buttons, need to work blind with tab key to get to OK. If I try the KDE-Plasmoid I get a message that some program is accessing the device, but lsof does not show anything. I even cannot open my dvd-tray by pressing the device-button. If I try eject <device> I get: /usr/sbin/umount.devkit not found. Using eject as root is working. This was an update from 11.2 (zypper dup) and I noticed that DeviceKit-Power does not exist anymore, could this be causing this problem? An strace of mount.cifs clearly shows that it is never even accessing the credentials file. This is very easy to test. 1. type 'man mount.cifs' and create a credentials file as described 2. construct a mount -t cifs commandline which mounts the share. 3. watch it ask for a password. 4. use strace to verify that it's not ever even accessing the credentials file. With this, nsupdate can use kerberos and modify DNS in a secure way. I modified the timezone from an American one to Europe->Germany. I then wanted to set the NTP server by using the chaNge button. The time was retrieved from the NTP, but because the timezone was not set yet, the time was wrong by several hours. I could fix this at runtime by doing: mv /etc/localtime /etc/localtime-old ln -sf /usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Berlin /etc/localtime and setting "Berlin" in: /etc/sysconfig/clock TIMEZONE="Berlin" Then going back to the Yast2 Window and refreshing the time through NTP gave me the right time.
