No error message, no log entry. The mouse simply did not move no more; keystrokes were ignored. The system halt seems having occurred just while logging was in progress since the last log entry lines in /messages as well as /Xorg.0.log have been written only to some parts (the first characters have, the others haven`t). Looking at the process table I see flush:253:1 which seems lvm related. http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.linux.lvm.general/12147 seems to be approx the same. A new copy also will fail and cannot be killed obviously. kernel is 2.6.34.7-0.3-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT 2010-09-20 15:27:38 +0200 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. copy, move or unzip, untar a big file from one lvm vol to another one 2. 3.
