A few reboots and a DVD after removing everything worked properly! After installing all of them, I was asked to reboot the system. On positive side, the system was able to run again, but with such slight problems: * pretty many errors during boot (*) * the network is dead * the audio is dead * cannot mount any pendrive, because now vfat is not recognized (*) I would love to attach yast logs, but thanks to updates I am now disconnected from the world -- not net, no pendrives. The previous one used parsing the output of the echo command in order to loop through the log files, and that's something that should never be done if globbing is available in the shell. Also, the previous script didn't really make much sense from an algorithmic point of view, checking only if the first file exists, and if it is, then passing all the found files to bzip2. I hope this version of the script makes a little more sense to you. It has also been rewritten to real bash, but that shouldn't be trouble since cron depends on bash anyway. Attached, please find the new version of the script. Note the difference between Last and Least.
