The kernel detects the device and udev tries to restore the sound settings from default file /var/lib/alsa/asound.state, but at this moment /var isn't mounted yet. The system does continue loading and Kde display comes up though there are problems with some programs failing to launch, mainly internet programs (Firefox, Kmail, Thunderbird, Claws-Mail, Konqueror). Clicking on the window makes the mouse pointer disappear from both windows. Only the window bar remains active. Pressing the cross in the right upper corner, makes, after a while, to popup the dialog to kill the Kontact window and its subwindows with the loss of all data. This is reproducable. The version of Kontact that is used comes from the Release:46 KDE repository for openSUSE 11.4. Returning back to the version in the openSUSE 11.4 Oss repository makes it possible to use the reply as usual. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Kontact again 2. Press Reply 3. Enter the reply message and press Send (sometimes it becomes stuck even before pressing Send) Actual Results: The message window and the Kontact window with Kmail active become irresponsive (get stuck). Normally, they should, but not when using quotes ("), or the quotes should be removed -- you cannot use both. In the above case it means that you are trying to edit a file named "applications-merged/wine-Programs-VMware-VMware\ vSphere\ Client.menu" instead of editing the existing file: "applications-merged/wine-Programs-VMware-VMware vSphere Client.menu" Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.
