Under that kernel, the VM boots successfully if Dom0 is given the same commands that worked with 11.2: root=/dev/sys/root elevator=deadline swiotlb=force,256 iommu=soft pciback.permissive pciback.hide=(00:14.2)(04:00.0)(04:00.1)(04:01.0)pci=resource_alignment=00:14.2;04:00.0;04:00.1;04:01.0 radeon.modeset=0 vga=0x317 Using that same kernel command line on xen kernel 2.6.37.6-0.7.1, xm create and starting the DomU from virt-manager fail with the error "0000:04:00.1: non-page-aligned MMIO BAR found." I've attached the dmesg output, which includes the following error: " [ 0.228516] pci 0000:04:00.1: BAR 0: can't assign mem (size 0x1000)". The BIOS is AMI v1.7 (9/7/10) on an MSI 890GXM-G65. Ultimately I have to use my Macintosh disk-utility to get the drive back in to pristine form. Writing was successful. That's right I have an RC1 system, and used imagewriter to make a bootable image to install RC1 on another system. The problem can be seen in 2 ways: 1) Using yast2, select the disk partitioner utility (with the USB plugged in and mounted). While initializing, yast2 partitioner says "The partitioning on disk /dev/sdc is not readable by the partitioning tool parted, which is used to change the partition table. ,.. 2) Boot the USB stick. During the initial process where the installation software is sizing up its resources just after the Licensing Agreement screen, there is a popup saying that the installation media has a problem. As it happens, it also occurs with the version of imagewriter used on suse 11.4. Using fdisk shows the problem too, and suggests a fix. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. use imagewriter to write an openSUSE ISO image on a USB memory stick 2. remove and reinsert the memory stick 3. observe that it is not mounted (e.g. with df) 4. run yast2, select the disk partitioner 5. verify that during its initialization, a popup appears complaining about the partitioning on your USB stick or 2. Boot the memory stick to install the ISO image (it's OK, you won't wipe anything out; the problem occurs before anything is written to disk) 3. During the Stage 1 installation process, a popup warns about the USB stick, which is scary to even experienced users unless they know to ignore it. Root partition is : /dev/sd14 reiserfs. My home partition is /dev/sd15 Ext3 unable to use fsck or reiserfsck because of write permissions. I am able to get the wi fi card to connect to the internet from Yast2 but am unable to connect to repositories nor to get updates. It should output kvm-clock: echo /sys/devices/system/clocksource/clocksource0/current_clocksource" This only prints the _string_ that follows the echo-command. I think the correct code should be: "cat /sys/devices/system/clocksource/clocksource0/current_clocksource" which then prints the _content_ of current_clocksource. When you install puppet-server, and do sudo /sbin/service puppet-server start.. the response back of exit code is that it fails (but puppetmasterd is running). if you run sudo /sbin/service puppet-server stop, it fails to stop the running puppetmasterd. I would use this for an enterprise deployment, since .25.x includes the zypper definitions which would be helpful in a sles deployment.
