The problem: KDE desktop effects enabled. When the battery goes down the system disables the effects. Then wait until the battery is almost dead. If I connect the charger then, while enabling the effects, the I have a black screen. I can see and move the mouse cursor, everything else is a black screen. Then If suspend to RAM or disk the problem is still there. I should disconnect the charger, Could it be a bug? Please tell my if you need more feedback. Thanks in advance. Pablo Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Wait until the battery is almost dead, the system turn off the desktop effects 2.Wait until the battery is almost dead (really dead, without any green line left in the indicator) 3.Connect the charger, the when the system tries to enable the effects all goes black but the mouse pointer. Fedora 12 uses the nouveau driver and hibernates/suspends out of the box. When you give the command s2ram -f or one of the commands that are described in http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram the machine suspends but when it resumes does not open the screen. The keyboard works and all the other hardware works but not the screen. The machine is recognized from the s2ram utility as: sys_vendor = "Sony Corporation" sys_product = "VGN-AR41L" sys_version = "C3LPE12D" bios_version = "R0032J8" The video card that the machine uses is the NVIDIA 8400M GT. The problem has to do with the card because if I use the proprietary NVIDIA driver the suspend works out of the box too. Also Fedora 12 uses the nouveau driver which is different from the nv driver that openSuSE uses and the suspend/hibernate works out of the box too. I don't use the closed source NVIDIA drivers because are causing flickering and are somehow unstable. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try to suspend to ram. Using the command-line or the graphical menu of KDE4 2.Try to resume. 3. Actual Results: The machine suspends only from the command line not from the KDE. When you try to resume the computer is resumed but the screen does not open. It will execute the following command: setxkbmap -model pc104 -layout hu,us,no -variant ,, Actual Results: If you press AltGr+- it will work as if you pressed Alt+AltGr+-, so it will act like if you pressed Alt+*. E. g. in bash it will insert a list of available commands or files instead of inserting a "*"; in most applications it will do nothing. Expected Results: Insert a "*". I do not know the Norwegian layout (an other person needs it) but having it as an additional layout should not interfere with the current Hungarian layout. The problem does not occur if I add only Norwegian in addition to Hungarian; it occurs if I add e. g. I then icon for the CD-RW and opened dolphin. I can browse the CD-RW with dolphin. I started a terminal and su to root. cd /media ok cd expc no such file or directory. Mount produces /dev/sr0 on /media/expc type iso9660 (rw,nosuid,nodev,uid=1000,utf8) ls -l with /media as the current directory produces dr-xr-xr-x 3 colin root 2048 2010-03-26 15:33 expc Using my own account produced the same results. I mounted the CD-RW by hand on /mnt cd into it and installed the software without problems. I have loaded the CD-RW on 11.1 and everything works. a reboot of 11.2 does not fix the problem. I tried a lexmark distribution CD on 11.2 and there are no problems. I have just loaded a CD-RW with several directories of MP3. It is not treated as a data disk. New peripheral notification only gives the option of copy with K3B. If you do not copy with K3B it does not appear in Dolphin or mount. I might have used openfate as well for this request, but AFAIK it is not possible to attached a patch to openfate. Actual Results: It is not possible to start (several) configured virtual machine during boot Expected Results: Start (several) configured virtual machine during boot. In case of an system shutdown the virtual machines must be saved.
