If you use the import_module() method and attempt to import a YCP module whose name is not a valid Python identifier, it will be imported properly, but will fail when you try to use it. For instance, if you tried to import: ycp.import_module("YaPI::HTTPD") It would be imported as; ycp.YaPI::HTTPD However, when you attempt to use this module, Python throws an error since it's an invalid Python identifier. I have debugged and fixed the issue and attached a patch. I have added a method that translates imported module names so that they are imported into Python having valid identifier names. For instance, if you import: ycp.import_module("YaPI::HTTPD") It will be imported as: ycp.YaPI__HTTPD As you can see, invalid characters are translated to underscores. The translation ensures that all characters of the module name are letters, numbers, or underscores, and also that the first character is a letter or underscore. This is in accordance with correct Python syntax. The changes are specific to YCP.cc, and one method has been added (translate_namespace). The translated name is then used in the PyDict_SetItemString() call in RegFunctions(). I have tested the fix at the command line, and have used the patched version of the bindings with the YaST Education module (which I am currently developing in Python). So far, everything is working great, and I can now use YaPI modules. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Try importing a module in the YaPI directory. It causes that computer may enter to display sleep just after resume. It seems to be a bit confusing. How to reproduce: 1. Set display standby to 1 minute 2. sleep 120 ; pm-hibernate 3. Do not touch the computer during next 120 seconds 4. Wake-up the computer Current result: Display wakes up for the resume process and then goes to standby again Expected result: most probably running display, at least on the default desktop system. It's an x86_64 machine, but VBox is 32 bit due to some BIOS limits. I've done this with most previous milestones and RCs. This time, it fails very quickly on attempting to install from the DVD iso. After selecting "installation", it attempts to boot. It successfully sets up udev, but then fails on attempting to install basic drivers. After a few seconds, the flashing cursor stops flashing, and the machine is hung. I've tried a few settings (safe settings, ACPI off, etc) and various VBox setting, but the behaviour is always the same. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Try to install 11.2 M1 32 bit DVD iso on Virtualbox 3.1.2 r51627 2.Boot with standard boot options 3.Hit "esc" to view the boot process. 4. Setting up udev succeeds 5. Loading basic drivers hangs. Actual Results: The virtual machine hangs and has to be powered off. Expected Results: A normal boot into the installer. I mostly work with mdadm and have only recently started handling dmraid issues and I allowed my self to lose track of which this bug was about. (particularly a problem as both mdadm and dmraid can handle Intel Matrix arrays). Still, wait_for_udev should have waited for whatever devices was listed in /etc/fstab to appear. As you are not able to reproduce any more, and as it will probably be hard for me to hit exactly the same timing issue in testing I might have to close this as "works for me". However I will see if I can set up an Intel Matrix raid10 and watch exactly what dmraid does - maybe I will see something.
