As far as I now, you can configure a cable or a wifi connection with this method. I miss the feature of being able to easily configure a mobile internet connection, which is more and more used. Also, and more general, a modem connection, which is not so different from the mobile internet connection, is it?. Gnome control centre (in the "vanilla" installation) has already that feature if I remember correctly. So to be able to reproduce in more debug-friendly way, do (*) in installed system When I reboot the system, I get error (I don't remember it ATM, will reboot and add the error message as comment) and I get to the "filesystem repair" shell: 1. I was not asked for password to the encrypted partition during the boot 2. /dev/system exists, but /dev/encrypted does not! If I click on the battery applet and then click on the Sleep or Hibernate button, that works fine, so this is only an issue of taking the hotkeys in. If I run xev: KeyPress event, serial 31, synthetic NO, window 0x3e00001, root 0x10b, subw 0x0, time 653964252, (353,534), root:(357,594), state 0x0, keycode 150 (keysym 0x1008ff2f, XF86Sleep), same_screen YES, XLookupString gives 0 bytes: XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes: XFilterEvent returns: False ..so it seems that the hotkey is recognized fine as well, just ignored by powerdevil. Nothing relevant seems to appear in .xsession-errors, and nothing appears in `dbus-monitor` either.
