However, after having installed M4 on a physical workstation (read as non vm) and having applied all outstanding updates Amarok doesn't play them. It says "playing "whatever" ..." put there's no sound. The listrepo -e options export the repo list Ok but the addrepo -r options do not import the repos verbatim and so they must be edited by hand. It would be highly useful to be able to import the repository list such that it was identical to the exported list - in this way multiple PCs could be kept in sync easily. It would also be useful if the addrepo function allowed an option to completely overwrite the repo list with the uploaded one. Currently I'm running a bash script which deletes all the existing repos one-by-one but this is not really satisfactory. The main trigger of this at the moment is the changing of the KDE4 repositories and it's been a pain to change all the repo lists on all the PCs involved. Actually, this is as well not working on 11.1 with KDE 4.3.1 - the settings in 'Geräteaktionen' (device activities?) for 'Play DVD with kaffeine' seem not to work. No idea where to look up the 'available content' for the 'optical disk', which is currently set to 'VideoDvd' (but not working properly). Today when I booted my laptop, internet didn't work. I did some diagnostics and found out that I can ping gateway but none of the external ip or domains. I can't ping isp dns server also. After lots of analysis, I found that default route was missing. When I type route command, I don't see default route. I added manually using "route add default gw 192.168.1.1" and then it started working. I have to do this every time and it doesn't assign default gateway automatically.
