The system is a Dell Optiplex 740 with Athlon X2 4000+ and 4Gb of RAM, BIOS revision 2.0.12 and after a upgrade to 2.2.2 has same results. The text mode gives this message: --- cut here begin --- Kernel alive Kernel really alive PANIC: early exception 0e rip 10:ffffffff8021c3ae error 0 cr2 ffffffffff5fc0f0 --- cut here end --- We try with tree different computers of same model using the 64bits DVD installer downloaded from opensuse.org. Same issue occurs with a network installation. The kernel on the network installer was 2.6.25.5-default 64bits and we try with a 2.6.27.7-9-default with the same results. The 32bits installer works ok and this DVD media runs fine on another computer brands. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.boot from DVD 64bit installer on Dell Optiplex 740 2.boot from network using PXE with a 64bit installer 3. Not quite every day but perhaps 3-4 times a week, my mysql server crashes. It happens at roughly the same time every day, during some morning batch processing. Usually the table 'quarantine_archive' will need repairing, but not always. It has some 38 million rows. The batchjob that is running does a few hundred queries like this: mysql -Ddb_spamchek -h localhost -u spamchek_batch --password=spamchek -s -B -e "INSERT IGNORE INTO quarantine_archive SELECT * FROM quarantine WHERE state=1 AND domain='example.com'; DELETE FROM quarantine WHERE state=1 AND domain='example.com'" They're not running in parallel, but one-by-one. I'll attach the mysqld.log and some hardware info. Instead of second stage I saw KDE's login screen without any user to log on. After one more reboot I was told installation somehow failed and I was asked if I want to continue (all that was displayed in graphics mode, not text mode). I responded "Yes". Then picture flickered and I saw KDE's log in screen again. Interesting thing may be what I see on ALT+CTRL+F8. It's part of Xorg.0.log with Xorg crash logged.
