However, the pulseaudio client library does not - and it looks in /tmp instead of using TMPDIR (if present and not empty). This mismatch causes a number of problems, but should also be very easy to fix. I can probably supply a patch if necessary. NOTE: ditto libflashsupport (which hardcodes /tmp when accessing .esd sockets). I now have a working vscan code tree for samba => 3.2.14, which I am now porting to older samba versions, which I am expecting to release into the suse packages very soon. It uses snd_hda_intel as the sound driver. Simply downgrading to 2.6.27.25 resolved the issue for me. While running .29 I tried various things including upgrading to the latest alsa via: http://en.opensuse.org/Alsa-update. The instructions worked fine, but I still had no sound until I downgraded kernels. Screen is totaly corrupted (flickering, wrong colors, wrong size). Sometimes the screen even keeps black and empty, switching to terminal with Ctrl+AltF1 and back with ALT+F7 usually recovers the corrupted screen. I'm pretty sure this is the return of bug 465190. YaST-logs are attached.
