Some autoconf macro in configure.in gives an incorrect prototype for this external function. As a result, the conftest app fails to link due to the incorrect prototype, and python gets no support for the pre_input_hook in the readline bindings. I dont know wether the linker is too strict now, if autoconf has to put the correct include files in the configure test app or if something else is going on. Instead the hostname will be linux-[random sequence of characters]. This doesn't work on my system. The call of ntpd -1 lasts about 2 minutes and more and return without adjusting the clock. I have the /etc/init.d/ntp startup script to use ntpdate again and this works as expected. The system has a fixed ip and is allways connected to the internet (not related to Bug#407804). Install openSuSE 11.0 2. Update to kernel-2.6.26-26 by "yast2 --install kernel-vanilla" 3. Reboot into the newly installed kernel. 4. Do S3 by typing "pm-suspend" from command line, or click "Computer->Shutdown->Sleep" from GUI. 5. System doesn't go to S3. 6. Do S4 by typing "pm-hibernate" from command line, or click "Computer->Shutdown->Hibernate" from GUI. 7. System doesn't go to S4. Expected Results: For Suspend-to-RAM(S3) - The system should enter S3 normally. On pressing the power button again, system should come out of S3. For Hibernate(S4) - The system should enter S4 normally. On pressing the power button, system should resume from the saved image stored in swap partition. The system hangs on the vt screen during the suspend process. Only way to recover is a hard poweroff. What happens now is this: I am on a 64 bit system, and I use the i386 KDE CD as a basis for a new product. When I selected all the packages, and it is going to create the iso image directory, I get this warning: File ./boot/rescue not found on media: So I guess that yast2-product-creator passes the wrong arguments to y2mkiso. I can do it on the commandline though, when I have created the repository and don't let yast2-product-creator make an iso for me I can copy the contents of /boot/i386 from the original CD to the repository I just created. /docu is also omitted for some reason, so I copied that one as well then: /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2mkiso path/to/repo /path/to/iso/.iso i386 will do the trick. The current implementation of the software selection prevents that because it requires to leave the software selection to modify or add new repositories. That's highly annoying to users who don't use only the default repository. A good solution would be to fold the "software repositories" module into the software selection. There already is a tab for repositories there.
