It crashed during disk test reaim. Above is kernel crash log. Type reboot, the host didn't reboot but only showed the following message: Setting up linker cache (/etc/ld.so.cache) using ldconfig done Unmounting fuse control filesystem done Turning off swap files Source of the test will be attached. No logs of the reboot get written to disk, but I copied the following down which might be significant: [quote] ata3:00 qc timeout (cmd 0x27) failed to read native max address [end quote] The above is the first indication that something might be wrong, this is then soon followed by several: [quote] Buffer I/O error on device sda6, logical block 65573 lost page write due to I/O error on sda6 [end quote] with several different logical blocks listed. The screen is then quiet for 5 minutes before the sda disk errors start scrolling the screen again until the INIT id's are once again disabled for 5 minutes. To work, the MX series need to use the rare MP series drivers available (not all the MPs exist), which do not allow all the functionalities and sometimes do not work at all. Canon Network Printing functionality is probably impossible for developers to make it work. I challenge anyone on that. Canon uses a proprietary communication protocol (CNBJNP) and they do not provide the functionality for Linux. There exist a MAC OSX driver, maybe someone could use it to build something under openSUSE. But the existing RPM packages provided by Canon would help, as long as ALL the printers could have its own package! This is what I would like.
