I attach a patch, which sorts the files *locale independant*, so the common priority theme Identity.map.[0-9][0-9]<whatever> for the files can be used. The probLem is coming when i buy usb enclosure hard disk. OS: - openSuSE-10.2 - kernel 2.6.18.2-34 my computer: - have tv card connected to pci - have usb-1.0, so - i buy pci-to-usb (usb-2.0), because - i want my encLosure hard disk connected to it, so i can get fuLL speed r/w situation: - usb hard disk is connected in pci-to-usb - Login to KDE - the usb hard disk is automounted, then - when i run kdetv (program to watcing TV) or close it, my usb hard disk is [sometimes] autodisconnected (see Last output from dmesg.out). my current soLution: 1. Connect usb hard disk to internaL usb-1.0, (and happy with 300-400 kb/s speed) 2. Unmount usb hard disk first, then run kdetv, then mount again. At least libstdc++.so.2.8 seems to be needed by uvscan from McAffee/NAI, as reported on opensuse-de. Get an old version of required package, install it in parallel with the new one. This works for most libraries (if developers follow shared library naming policy and libraries can have more instances). To provide this on packages level, we need to follow shared library packaging policy. parallel-installable versions of devel packages: Install a package which needs an old epoch package. Get this old version of the devel package library, install it in parallel with the new one. This works for well designed projects (e. g. for gstreamer, glib, gtk+ and large parts of GNOME).
