The on board graphic card (chip) is a Intel 82830M for the 1024x768 LCD-notebook-display. If the X-Server tries to start the display shows the cross mouse pointer for a short time and then the display stays dark. After a while the display shows a pattern of colored horizontal and vertical lines. The pattern differed from try to try. I attached the Xorg.O.log for determination. I guess there is a problem with frequency. The chip is recognized by 915resolution, and I configured a slot for 1440x1050. I also modified the init script /etc/sysconfig/videobios. VIDEOBIOSPATCH="yes" VIDEOBIOS_PARAMETERS="5a 1440x1050" 915resolution -l shows tha the bios patch is performed with success. This works in 10.2, but not in 10.3rc1. It happens after I run "GParted" from within SuSE 10.3. Last time I ran it to format a new USB HD, which I did successfully. This time it happened after I reformatted my Sansa mp3 player which was also successful. After it happens I'm able to transfer files on the USB devices using the Sidux live CD. CD & DVD install Boots fail after selecting "Install" from Yaboot. There is a message about Allocating Memory then a wait, and finally a "read error" Message. I tried Multiple CD & DVD's on 3 different Systems. I then Tried Network Booting the inst64 image which may have shown where the problem lies. Returning process starts and executes until the progress bar fills in completely and then it just stays there.
