If it fails (for whatever reason e.g firewall blocking direct connection to remote port 80), the test will be evaluated as failed as well -> no registration/online update This is all I can do on yast2-network side. I don't know whether yast online_update reads *_proxy environment variables and uses them in any way. SLES10 (and more) is only fixed by corrected parsing of the configuration file. That's why I'm changing the $product to openSUSE 10.3 and adjusting severity. The use basically the same xen conf file ( the only difference is the kernel they boot). For testing these domU i switch booting between pae and non-pae xen dom0 kernel. The system is stuck with: "GRUB Loading stage2..." I'm able to boot the system with my custom GRUB (from CD). btw. I have the same issue with 10.2. This works for me for all scenarios if I remove user, sync and owner from the fstab line and run any relevant mount command as root or with sudo. I have found 2 possible work arounds : 1. put "UseDNS no" in /etc/ssh/sshd_config 2. comment out the "search" directive in /etc/resolv.conf I submit the case as I suspect it could be a bug with sshd/resolver/pam and not only a configuration problem. This happens when connecting from inside the network aswell as from the internet. I see 5 times a 10 seconds delay after querying our dns server. This seems to be a timeout but I could not trace its source with the highest debug setting in sshd.
