Asus based desktop, 8212 IDE card fails (This had been fixed in 10.1 I am very happyo to report BOTH there problems are fixed in 10.3 alpha 1 and Alpha 2. I used hdparm to turn it off: felix:~ # hdparm -r 0 /dev/sde /dev/sde: setting readonly to 0 (off) readonly = 0 (off) But, it will still not let me write: cfdisk /dev/sde: Opened disk read-only - you have no permission to write I can't partition, format, remount rw. I can partition, format and write to it on Mac OS X and Windows XP. What is causing this? Can I fix it? Thank you very much for your time and help! ==Leonard p.s.
