With debugging enabled xosview shows a sector size of 128 for the raid disk. With 512 the displayed values seems to be correct. /sys/block/sdX/queue/max_hw_sectors_kb = 128 /sys/block/sdX/queue/max_sectors_kb = 128 The raid is configured as raid 0, stripe size 64kb. I cannot say if the values in /sys/.. are wrong (kernel driver) or if the values are mis-interpreted (xosview). In 10.2 I didn't have the problem. That leads to a subsequent read of ~/.bashrc which is wrong if bash is in sh-mode. ~/.bashrc is by definition only read by a bash. It may contain statements that are understood by bash but not by sh. The bash(1) man page says: Bash attempts to determine when it is being run by the remote shell daemon, usually rshd. If bash determines it is being run by rshd, it reads and executes commands from ~/.bashrc, if that file exists and is readable. It will not do this if invoked as sh. The --norc option may be used to inhibit this behavior, and the --rcfile option may be used to force another file to be read, but rshd does not generally invoke the shell with those options or allow them to be specified. But the Packman package *also* provide libphysfs.so.1. SDL_sound package from Packman "requires" libphysfs.so.1, and so can't be installed with the official or OBS physfs packages. *Up to where I know* the different packages are compatible between them (same soname...), so this "libphysfs.so.1" dependency doesn't makes anything useful. That is for example with Flash, Amarok, ogg123, Skype, ... All those are supposed to use ALSA directly but I never got sounds from there mixed on my system. I'm just using WindowMaker so no sound daemon is used. I've checked if some application uses /dev/dsp through OSS but haven't found one so I would expect sound mixing to work (either by hardware or by software). There are several ways to have automatic linebreaks, see my mail in the wiki mailinglist - http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-wiki/2007-10/msg00035.html Basically, you can simply take one of my proposals from the mail and implement it via copy&paste ;-) I'll also attach the proof-of-concept mediawiki plugin here (it seems the archive ignores attachments).
