We could use a glibc.spec.in and produce both glibc.spec and glibc-optimized.spec from it. Or put everything into glibc.spec and remove the unneeded parts as needed. glibc.spec should Suggest: glibc-optimized, hopefully yast will autoselect it that way during update. This happens at the beginning of the installation, right after the X process is running and yast starts to probe the mouse. I can not always reproduce this. So far I have seen it on the powerbook g4 3 times and today on my g5. I noticed that the timezone is UTC before yast starts, and once yast is running, the timezone is EST. Maybe X gets confused by this event? Its not on the 10.2 media, but in the full 10.2 tree. First, I had to enable the external oss tree again, for some reason. Second, why is the external tree the first (and maybe prefered) install source after a fresh install? I did not install from opensuse.org. During install, opensuse.org timed out. Ok, that can happen if every zmd client out there hammers hard on it. But why does yast use the packages from opensuse.org (like libtool), when it can just use the local installation source to get the identical package?
