Apparently, this stops the entire boot process and the machine must be rebooted. Furthermore, even booting into runlevel 1 is unsufficient to fix this problem as the interfaces are (erroneously, IMO) brought up even for runlevel 1!! The easiest way to fix the problem is to use init=/bin/sh. Test via eth-id-00:... doesn't say anything about the interface (e.g., DHCP, IP, Hostname, Device Name, Provider for Dial-up). - This is very important, I'll attach some screenshot from DHCP Server that also offers to select one network interface from a list. See pieces of information that are printed there. 2.) An icon could be placed before the interface name to distinguish between DSL, Lan, Modem... - Not important, only cool, on the other hand, being cool is what we want, istn't it :)? 3.) Maybe another dialog icon (network-test) could be used - this current one is for network in general. - Not important, if there is no such icon, just leave it alone... IMHO it would be nice and right to set java files with run: java with java jar with java -jar jnlp with javaws AFAIK jar files are configured to be unpacked by default which is IMHO very wrong, because when user download some program (installer) it will open archive instead start installing. Q1: Can somebody reproduce the situation or othewise - a build big iso file (bigger than 5-6 GigaBytes. I should look for other reasons of this behaior? It hapened that K3b was asked to create an *.iso image (of a big folder - bigger than 6GB). It started to work but after a while it closed at all without any message. Cheching the folder you find a 4Giga *.iso file created but it seems incorrectly created and NOT containing the whole initial (6G) folder items. I do not know if the iso standard is the problem (suppose - which i do not know - the standard does not allow bigger *.isi files). But even if so, K3b has to tell the user whats going on and stay open before shutting down. In the same time K3b should offer other extention for the file (if the iso-standard limitations exist) and create a (non iso(9660?)) file being able to mount this file and/or - burn it on a double layer DVD DL. Any comments? Actually, I would like to know Q2: ... if K3k cn burn double layer DVDs and/or iso files isolating in such a way the option of hardware faile (bad sectors where K3b executables are installed. A second thing is, that nspluginviewer blocks soundsystem since the update, no application can use it as long here are nspluginviewer processes are running.
