Selected email(s) will now enter the in box. Select Inbox > Select one or more emails> Right click and select "Move" and move to a local folder. Outcome. The email that was moved to a local folder ends up back in the 'Trash folder. It never gets moved to the selected folder. It appears that the undelete function is not working and once an email is in the trash folder it cannot ever be moved to any other folder even if you omit the undelete function. If undeleting a large number of emails and attempting to move to a singular local folder results in corruption of indexing of the folder the undeleted emails were moved to - see screen shot. There appears no way of re-indexing the database. The synchronise menu option offers an extraneous error response. see screen capture. Folder properties indicate the local folder has now 978 emails in it when there is in reality on 64. I am unable to fix the indexing problem now. I had an automated System Back to a NFS drive running weekly for such a disaster. The backup Help is confusing Backup Options “Here, select which parts of the system to search and back up. Archive Description is an optional description of the backup archive. The archive will contain files from packages that were changed since package installation or upgrade. Files that do not belong to any package can be optionally added to the archive. Check Display List of Files to show and edit a list of files found before creating the backup archive. If you select Check MD5 Sum, the MD5 sum is used to determine if the file was changed. It is more reliable than checking the size or modification time, but takes longer” There needs to be a full explanation of the term "Files that do not belong to any package can be optionally added to the archive" It is also confusing why you would want to omit directories in a System Backup as you therefore cannot restore it. Certainly a System backup should backup all files in the anticipation that a duplicate system can be restored to its original form if needs be. The other fundamental problem is that we can exclude directories from backup, however we cannot add them. I mention this because whilst a "System Backup" seems to imply the ability to backup a system with the understanding that in the event of failure the total working System ca be restored to a functioning and usable state. I appreciated that we can backup system areas that are mounted, however this does not appear to indicate the files located in those partitions. Here we run into the fundamental question is we Backup a Total System in order to be able to restore that same system to a workable system without loosing data. A System backup is performed in order that we may recover a lost system. As the System Backup does NOT enable the backup of the associated files in respect to its functioning configuration I.E its /home configuration file and there is no ability to include this area of the disk - the value of System Backup needs discussion as in its current state it can really only restore the / directory partition. Discussion needs to take place for the ability for the user to easily backup and subsequently restore a "complete working system" - if that is what the application is intended to do? The current System back and restore functionality usefulness is therefore questionable. I appreciated that due to Linux complex directory structure it is really difficult to Backup, however in its current form System Backup and hence restore has limited in not an undefined goal. It actually cannot backup and successfully and restore the total system installed on a PC to its previous state - and perhaps its aim and functionality needs further discussion. I appreciated that backing up a system, preserving file attributes, is a difficult task, however we do have several constants we can utilize. There will always be a / and /home partition and perhaps this may be different in the system to be restored, however the constants are that they will exist and there will be a need to address recovery to a differently partitioned system. The lack of file verification in such an important role is of worry. Not that I want to ever have to return to MS-Outlook which uses 1 single file a PST file that holds the day or years activities and emails into one achieve folder. There may be some value in creating a sear folder and archive that file, however this does maintain, contacts and tasks list in you calendar. Take a look at printer module. Button "finish". Help (left side of the dialog) says "Saving Changes Press Finish to save changes." There are two basic principles in education: a) do not explain the topic via tautology b) do not explain the topic (the unknown) via unkwown This printer dialog is just example of (a). Please, rename this button "save changes & finish" and remove this so-called "help". It is offensive in intellectual way to even 10-years old child. Yast2 is full of places when principle (a) or (b) is violated so please, take a look, and fix this. This way the help side can be cleared up from pure nonsense help and the user could get used to use it -- because then it would containt _useful_ information. YaST still tries to look it up but it obviously fails. No message is reported that it is because of running firewall. Never change a firewall configuration on your own. You can: a.) Try to lookup and if it returns nothing and there is some firewall running, report error, that it might be bacause of running error. b.) When user selects to lookup, open-up a pop-up and ask them whether they want to lookup the server despite the fact that a firewall is running and might block the broadcast traffic. c.) First time the drop-down is shown all the options are readable. Second and subsequent times, any element which has previously been selected is now unreadable (white font on white background). Eg multiple identities in the "from" box of a new mail message - click one, then go back and click another, original is now invisible. Closing and reopening the active window clears the bug. This makes Evolution hard to use, and Multisync virtually impossible. I am running kernel 2.6.16.21-0.25-default on OpenSuSE 10.1 KDE version 3.5.1 Level "a". Evolution 2.6.0 Problem is very repeatable. As an example: echo -e "#include <foobarisnothere.h>\nint main(){}\n" | gcc -x c++ -o out - errors out as expected: foobarisnothere.h was not found. But echo -e "#include <foobarisnothere.h>\nint main(){}\n" | gcc -MMD -x c++ -o out - only gives a warning that the file is not found. Both error out if "" is used instead of <> for including files. Worse, if the file that #include<>s something is under /usr/include or /usr/local/include, <b>no message at all</b> is given. I know this may sound funny, but I actually would like to ignore some updates. ZEN-updater keeps showing me that orange (!) icon that updates are available. When clicked the icon zen-updater shows updates, but from this point on user can only uncheck/check the updates. The uncheck wont help here at all, because the program can't remember this choice on next time the updater is run. There isn't an option to lock the package. By this I mean that updater would't show/check patches for that package with locked status. For example I have downloaded newest kernel-source and compiled that myself, but the kernel-default*.rpm isn't updated so the updater keeps telling me there is a kernel update available. In some cases people want to stick with the old version of some package and update others. This is just one example with this kernel thing. I would greatly appreciate such a tool. The screen goes blank, an error message is generated, and then it just halts. The disk I have is from Linux User and Developer magazine, DVD format, and says openSUSE 10.1. My system is an older HP 455MHz celeron with 256MB of memory. The video is the ATI RagePro with 8M. It is currently running Redhat 3.2.2-5 (last Redhat release prior to fedora) with no problem. The system model number is Pavillion 6475Z. The HP website says the card can be upgraded, would that help? Or is there an alternate installation methoc? The first time, the installation reported an "Error with installation", and I had to reboot because I couldn't cancel the Add-on option. The second time I tried the update, following the same steps, it went to a black screen after trying to continue the update after inserting the CD, and I had to reboot again. I was able to successfully complete the update by leaving the Add-on option unchecked. I later used the YaST "Add-on Product" option to install what I needed from the Add-on CD. But between CD2 and CD3 and after CD3 I had to enter "Addon BiArch" CD again because YaST2 wanted to install other selected packages.
