Hi all, I've already inquired Michal personally but he claims to be busy (an outrage!) so I'll ask here. The question is: can we have an Etherpad installation for openSUSE somewhere? The reason why this would be good is mostly control (being able to control access) and convenience - you can have a marketing domain with a list of the marketing etherpads etc etc so you don't loose links to your pads. Also, we now use Piratepad, some day it might go down or something, having it under our own control is nice. ;-) cheers, Jos

we could set it up in a VM for it. though we would need the details what you need exactly and who will maintain it in the long run. your friendly opensuse infrastructure team darix -- openSUSE - SUSE Linux is my linux openSUSE is good for you www.opensuse.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+help@opensuse.org

What's needed ain't too complicated - at least as far as this complete server-noob is concerned :D Just an etherpad install with me as admin (initially) - it needs littel work from there. Except for some script to check if it's still up and if not, to automatically restart it. I've heard it can be crashy :D I'm mostly looking for a setup which simply allows to give ppl accounts or open up etherpads to the world - Jeff Mitchell has set this up for the KDE marketing team, I'm sure he'll be willing to describe how he set that up and with what features (if any).
your friendly opensuse infrastructure team
Duuude :D

First step would be to create Etherpad packages (and its dependencies) in OBS. I know that Fedora folks have them already in Rawhide. :-) -- Best Regards / S pozdravom, Pavol RUSNAK SUSE LINUX, s.r.o openSUSE Boosters Team Lihovarska 1060/12 PGP 0xA6917144 19000 Praha 9 prusnak[at]opensuse.org Czech Republic -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+help@opensuse.org

Cool. I asked if any marketing person was interested in helping out, I could also ask on -project if you think that would help...

dl9pf had once a etherpad server running for the OWN folks, so maybe is helpful to talk with him. I am very sure that saigkill and HeliosReds are happy they get such an tool back. br gnokii -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+help@opensuse.org
