[opensuse-autoinstall] Add on software and autoyast classes problems.
Hi,
I am trying to get use classes with autoyast. The class I am trying to
use also include an add-on product. My xml looks like this.
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE profile>
<profile xmlns="http://www.suse.com/1.0/yast2ns"
xmlns:config="http://www.suse.c
om/1.0/configns">

If I merge the above xml and the base.xml into a single file myself and run autoyast everything works fine. If I try to run the above xml and the base.xml as a class autoyast complains with an error message that states it can't find the add-on product.
Any ideas as to why? is there a particular place the add-on section should go in? is there a particular order to get this to work?
do you have an add-on section in your base.xml and in your class? Then you need to put the "listentry" into the dont_merge list too http://www.suse.de/~ug/autoyast_doc/merging.html -- ciao, Uwe Gansert Uwe Gansert, Server Technologies Team SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Business: http://www.suse.de/~ug -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org

No I do not have an add-on section in my base.xml class. the add-on section is only in the xml that calls the base.xml class. I will try adding the "dont_merge" directive anyway and see if that helps. Adding the "dont_merge" directive did not help the I still get Error Failed to add add-on product. any other ideas? Thank you for the help. Rene On Mon, 2009-01-12 at 20:35 +0000, Rene Salmon wrote:

take a look at /var/log/YaST2/y2log when the error appears. There is a good chance that you can find something there. -- ciao, Uwe Gansert Uwe Gansert, Server Technologies Team SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Business: http://www.suse.de/~ug -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org
Sorry for off topic but at least on this list is pretty much Suse and Linux know how. The question: Is there a way to get all software version numbers related to a OpenSuse or SLES version ? Reason for this question: I am going the create a build environment for AIX and I would like to have later the same software and more important the same software version build for AIX. Thus the versions will be equal on both platforms. ( AIX kernel + IBM compiler + GNU :-) Does somebody knows on which kernel & opensuse version the next SLES 11 is build of ? The reason for this qustion is simply that I would like to have the same kernel version on SLES as to an corresponding OpenSuse Version - Needed for GPFS Support tia Hajo -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org

the ARCHIVES.gz on the installation source contains that information. That would need a bit of zgreping maybe. Or you can do "zypper se -s" on an installed system. I bet there are more options but those two came into my mind. -- ciao, Uwe Gansert Uwe Gansert, Server Technologies Team SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Business: http://www.suse.de/~ug -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org
